How did you become interested in your area of study? What motivates you to continue learning about your career?

I decided to study medicine when I was a little girl. I played with my sister and we dressed up as a doctor and as a dentist (because my sister wanted to be a dentist) and our dolls were the patients. My parents gave me a lot of games that made me feel like a little doctor.
My father is a doctor, so when I grew up he was my inspiration to continue my ilussion. It all started when I saw him curing my little brother when he fell off my parents' bed because he was jumping. I was amazed and I asked him : "What should I do in the future to cure people like you?" and he answered : "you could be a doctor". Since then I started to play with my little sister and we dressed up as a doctor and as a dentist, because she was inspired by my eldest cousin, who was a dentist.
When I was in highschool I studied a lot because I still wanted to care of people and help them when they feel pain, in the future.
Now in the university, my inspiration is the same, I admire my father and what he does for other people. Every day the most of my classes remind me my ilussion and someday I hope it comes true.

There is a useful website where you could find medicaments' names and their action, when the doctor gives you a recipe.click here

SUMMARY: "An apple peel a day, might help keep cancer at bay"

A study of Cornell Institute suggets that "An apple peel a day, might help keep cancer at bay", a similar proposal to the proverb "An apple a day keeps the doctor away".
The researcher Rui Hai Liu, the senior author of the study, found that the apple peel has several compounds that have anti-proliferative activities, that is to say, anticancer activities in human liver colon and breast cancer cells.
The compounds are about a dozen kinds of "triterpenoids" that previously were tested in laboratory cultures. Three of them have never been described before in the literature.
Liu also said that some compounds act in differents ways against the cancer cells, but all of them have very potent anti-cancer activity and for that reason they must be study further.
Liu and the researcher Xiangjiu He analized the individual compounds in apples of the Cornell Orchard and they also found others compounds called "phytochemicals" (a kind of flavonoids and phenolic acids, known for their antioxidant activity) that seem to have anti-cancer activities too.
The recommendation of Cornell Institute's researchers is to eat 5 to 12 daily servings of a variety of vegetables and fruits, specially apples and their peel to reduce the risks of developing cancer and other chronical diseases.

My Weekend *(." )

The last weekend I went to my boyfriend´s graduation ceremony. He recieved his Bachelor´s degree and now he is prepared to continue his studies in engineering at USACH. =)
The ceremony was the last friday, in the "Aula Magna" of the university, at 7:00 p.m.-->That was a big problem for me, because I had to go to his university immediately after my last class of the day, that finished at 5:30 p.m., so I had to run =S...But that wasn´t the real problem, the big one was that I had to go in METRO...=O nooooooo, and I had to take the fearsome "Line 1"... could it be worst? I don´t think so...
Well, finally I took the METRO and the line was completely full of people!! =O , I thought I was going to die in the crowd =S...and then... yes, exactly what I thought, people started to hit themselves, including me in the fight. A crazy woman almost hit me on my face, Can you imaging my eye with a bruise??????!!!!
And also I almost lose my bag in the crowd, that was awful!!!!!...=S =O =( =Z
Finally, after my adventure I arrived alive to the university. My beautiful cloth and make up were ruined, but I sat down with dignity next to the other glamy people...
Definitely a story of bravery and courage of-->
"SUPERMELANIE"!!! =) yes!

My loved book..."Matilda"

Previously, I have to confess I have never read a book, a magazine or some text in english, but I can recommend you a very funny book you can found in english, if you want to read it someday. =)

"Matilda" is the funniest book I've ever read. I read it when I was a little girl, in my summer holidays.
It`s about a girl called Matilda Wormwood, who loves reading a lot of books, but her parents don`t allow her to read them, because they force her to watch stupids TV programs. Her father was an expert swindler in the used car business. Her mother seems to be an understanding mother, but she is a superficial woman like her husband. She also has a brother who is always in front of the TV, eating fried food.
As you can see, Matilda is a misunderstood girl, but she survives to these problems, reading in many libraries and developing her mind powers, yes she has powers!. She can move things without touching them, with her mind.
With these powers Matilda has a lot of funny moments in her school, where she has to cope with her partners and with her evil headmistress...Miss Trunchbull =S
But in the school she also meets her beloved teacher, Mrs. Honey who takes care of Matilda like if she was her daughter.
So, If you read "Matilda" I´m sure you will have a lot of funny moments...=)

"HuRt"- ChRiStInA aGuiLeRa

I chose this song because I like the singer of this song, Christina Aguilera. I like her voice so much and I would like to sing like her. The letter is a little bit sad, because the song tells the story of a woman that wants to say sorry to her father for hurt him. She hurt him because they had a very bad relationship when she was younger.
well, I hope you to enjoy the letter and the rythm of this song.

See the video too...=)

"Hurt"
Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were but I walked away
If only I knew what I know today

I would hold you in my arms
I would take the pain away
Thank you for all you've done
Forgive all your mistakes
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To hear your voice again
Sometimes I want to call you but I know you won't be there

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit
Sometimes I just want to hide 'cause it's you I miss
You know it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this

Would you tell me I was wrong?
Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me?
Are you proud of who I am?
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you looking back

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself
If I had just one more day, I would tell you how much that
I've missed you since you've been away

Oh, it's dangerous
It's so out of line to try to turn back time

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself

By hurting you
